Pastor Paul Schult on The Lutheran Hour

Some 18 years ago I attended church with my parents at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Kansas City, MO. I was the second class confirmed there by Pastor Paul Schult. I only regret that I didn’t have the appreciation then for the “Christ-centered, cross-focused” preaching served that I do now.

Today Pastor Schult delivered the weekly message for the Lutheran Hour, “Nourishment That Gives Eternal Life” (link dead). Pastor Schult dismisses a popular temporally therapeutic Jesus for the Christ who delivers everlasting life to our cursed world. The sermon lasts for the first 18 minutes of the 30 minute, 4 MB file. I recommend a listen. Around 25 minutes there is a good discussion on the Lutheran view of church and state with Pastor Ken Klaus.

Thanks, Pastor. Hope to hear you again soon.
