We stayed at the Comfort Suites in Lombard, IL, for a week.
Our two rooms had good space, able to roll out the hide-a-bed and still have room for the desk. The beds were a little soft, able to let someone fall if he or she sat right on the edge.
The third-height fridge worked well, but the baby microwave was hard to set and produced hot and cold spots in our leftovers.
Outlets were spread all over the place, and we found enough for all our gadgets. There were three within reach of the desk. The 802.11n wireless Internet impressed us with its speed.
The bathroom was also quite spacious, having good room overall and in the shower/tub. The water had good heat and pressure, and the shower controls regulated the temperature very well.
The fitness room was a little sparse. The display on the recombinant bike didn’t work. The treadmill sounded like it was going to break at high speeds, and the elliptical had a clank in the rear wheel. The room had a nice flat panel TV.
The heated pool started at 3′ at two opposite edges and met in the middle at 4′. The doors to the pool room could be kept open, creating a nasty breeze. There was also a hot tub.
The free breakfast in the morning consisted of a waffle iron with two batter flavors, refrigerated milk, butter, and hard-boiled eggs, bagels and toast, cereal, scrambled egg rounds and sausage. Orange and apple juice were available.
We did not use the laundry service. The staff was helpful and courteous. Housekeeping kept our rooms well in shape, though they wanted to start earlier than we liked.
The entrance to the hotel is somewhat hidden, and cutting through the adjacent McDonald’s is required to make a left turn out of the hotel.
At normally $90 a room the price is a little steep, but it is in a Chicago suburb and Illinois is not tax-friendly. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.
